S. Korea to maintain naphtha export restrictions through Jan.

South Korea will extend its export restrictions on naphtha through January, the industry ministry said Thursday. The measure, introduced in late March for five months, will be extended by another five months due to prolonged geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East. Businesses are banned from exporting naphtha without prior approval, and manufacturers must report daily on production, shipments, destinations, and inventories.

Why it matters: This decision reflects ongoing supply-chain risks in the Middle East, a key theme in the briefing on geopolitical disruptions to energy markets.
