LNG Bunker Snapshot: Prices fall amid hopes of de-escalation in Middle East conflict
LNG bunker prices declined week-on-week in ARA, Singapore, the Baltics and Portugal, with Rotterdam's price falling by $68/mt to $1,420/mt for a second consecutive week. The decline was driven mainly by a roughly 2% drop in the front-month Dutch TTF contract amid forecasts of warmer weather and expectations of easing Middle East tensions on progress in US-Iran talks. Singapore's price fell more sharply, narrowing its premium over ARA to $147/mt from $179/mt, while EU underground gas storage stood at 70.6% on 25 September, up from 69.3% a week earlier but 14.6% below the year-earlier level.
Why it matters: The price moves show how conflict risk in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz is transmitted into energy markets, the briefing's energy security theme.
