13-year-old drillship to target 10 wells in Africa

Tullow Oil has contracted Noble Corporation to employ a drillship from its fleet in Ghana, under an agreement that sets the vessel's task as drilling up to 10 offshore wells. The drillship Noble Faye Kozack is to begin the agreed wells from the middle of next year, after completing its current assignment for Petrobras offshore Brazil. The statement did not specify the contract's value or its full duration.

Why it matters: The deal falls within the energy security theme, since it supports offshore oil and gas exploration in Africa intended to increase production.
