Subsea production systems for Mozambique’s deepwater LNG project ordered from OneSubsea

OneSubsea, a joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7, has secured a contract with ExxonMobil for a liquefied natural gas development in Mozambique, covering subsea production systems for the project's first phase. Under the contract awarded by ExxonMobil Moçambique, the company will deliver subsea trees, manifolds, umbilicals and associated control systems for the Rovuma deepwater field, together with engineering, procurement, manufacturing and installation services. SLB OneSubsea also plans to establish a services base in Mozambique to serve operators across the region and support local training, employment and regional supply chains.

Why it matters: Under the theme of energy security, the award ties a deepwater African gas resource to an integrated subsea supplier as the Rovuma LNG development moves toward its first phase.
