DP World Signs MOUs For Proposed Port And Economic Zone In Ogun State, Nigeria

DP World, the Ogun State Government and Ogun Deep Sea Port Company Ltd signed two Memorandums of Understanding to explore the development of a greenfield deep sea port and special economic zone in Ogun State, Nigeria. The proposed development would cover a 10,000-hectare site along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, combining port infrastructure with industry, manufacturing and logistics. DP World employs more than 7,000 people in Nigeria and has committed around US$3 billion to port infrastructure and logistics across Africa, including projects in Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Why it matters: The MOUs extend a Gulf-based operator's port and logistics investment across Africa, placing Nigeria within the briefing's trade and infrastructure theme.
