Growing Zambia’s pie: an infographic
Mining For Zambia has published an infographic based on First Quantum Minerals' 2025 Tax Transparency and Economic Contributions Report, which compiles data from multiple jurisdictions. The infographic sets out how much FQM contributed to Zambia in 2025 and how those contributions have grown since 2024. It attributes the change to 2025 being the first year in which Kansanshi's S3 expansion was in full production, and shows where $3.46 billion was allocated within Zambia's economy.
Why it matters: It bears on the critical minerals theme, linking expanded copper output at Kansanshi to the scale and allocation of a mining company's tax and economic contributions in Zambia.
