Five countries on radar of Israeli companies for oil and gas deals
Israeli or Tel Aviv-linked companies are expanding their oil and gas portfolios through acquisitions and entry into new assets in several markets, with Egypt, the United States, Canada, Angola and South Africa among the markets that saw such moves in 2026. A survey by a specialized Washington-based energy platform found that Energean, Ratio Petroleum, Navitas Petroleum and Ithaca Energy, which is linked to Israel's Delek Group, led the moves. The deals range from completed agreements to signed deals awaiting closing and negotiations still under study.
Why it matters: The moves illustrate cross-border investment in oil and gas, as Israeli-linked firms seek assets in Egypt, Canada and the United States while regulatory approvals in several jurisdictions determine whether deals close.
