World's largest diesel importing countries: Morocco among top 10
In the first nine months of 2026, global seaborne diesel imports averaged about 4.12 million barrels per day, down from 4.63 million b/d in the same period of 2025, a decline of nearly 509,000 b/d or 11% year on year. The ten largest importers accounted for 45% of global imports; Australia ranked first at 405,000 b/d, while Morocco ranked ninth at 113,000 b/d, up 12% year on year.
Why it matters: The ranking illustrates how supply disruptions and export restrictions are reshaping energy security and trade flows among diesel importers.
