Starlink in Ukraine Back to Normal After Week of Throttling
Ukraine said on Saturday that Starlink and its military version Starshield were fully functional after more than a week of restrictions that disrupted military operations. Ukrainian officials said the restrictions capped operations at 160 kilometers per hour, hampered the military's ability to intercept Russian attack drones and forced the cancellation of some operations. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the systems had resumed operations at pre-restriction speeds, and the Defense Ministry said the connection remained stable at over 400 kilometers per hour.
Why it matters: The disruption and restoration of Starlink and Starshield show that technology and security are now directly entangled with U.S.-Ukraine diplomacy and frontline military operations.
