Ghana’s GoldBod targets $1.4bn September FX generation for bank liquidity, reserves
Ghana expects GoldBod to generate $1.4bn in foreign exchange in September, with $700mn for commercial banks and up to $700mn for the Bank of Ghana. GoldBod generated $1.315bn in August, including $668.21mn sold to banks and $646.59mn to the central bank. Gross international reserves stood at $12.9bn at end-June 2026, down from $13.8bn at end-2025.
Why it matters: This relates to the theme of sovereign balance-sheet resilience, as Ghana seeks to rebuild reserve buffers through domestic gold resources under GANRAP.
