Saudi Aramco announces oil prices for October shipments
Saudi Aramco kept its official selling prices for Arab Light crude to Asia and Europe unchanged for October, at $2 below the Dubai/Oman and Brent benchmarks respectively, while raising prices to the US by $1 to $4.60 above the Argus index. The announcement coincided with Saudi Arabia and six OPEC+ countries agreeing to keep production policy unchanged for October 2026, amid ongoing effects of the Iranian war on energy markets. The seven countries had eliminated voluntary cuts of 2.2 million barrels per day in September 2025 and 1.65 million in September 2026, and agreed to increase production by 188,000 barrels per day in September 2026.
Why it matters: This relates to the theme of oil markets and OPEC+ policy, as Saudi pricing decisions directly influence global refining and purchasing decisions.
