APM Terminals builds big in Bangladesh

APM Terminals held the groundbreaking for APM Terminals Laldia in Chattogram, a $550-million project and one of the largest public-private partnership investments in Bangladesh's history. The project, which follows a government-to-government partnership between Bangladesh and Denmark, will be fully designed, financed, built and operated by APM Terminals and its partners, with the port asset remaining with Bangladesh. The project moves from signing to construction stage.

Why it matters: This development illustrates the theme of global trade infrastructure investment, as private capital and expertise are deployed to modernize critical port facilities in emerging economies.
